Being at MiXChange has really challenged me in my practical skills.
It has really been special to discover my gifting while practically working and learning new skills – literally building in the House of the Lord. One thing that I have learned is that in order to fulfill my duty in the corporate body, I first need to have personal leadership in order. Everything starts with me first.
This has really motivated me to look for the little opportunities to serve others practically, like washing dishes, cleaning the kitchen, etc.
One major growing point for me was when we built the deck for the baptisms. This really stretched me and my comfort zone, but in hindsight, that was a time where I had the opportunity to touch the body like I do not often get the chance to do.
That really was a very big test for me, to not make it about performance or doing what Martha did, saying “Tell Mary to come and help me, Lord”, but to actually have my heart in the right condition.
I serve practically because He makes it worth it. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the House of my God, than a master anywhere else.
