When I came to MiXChange my perspective of life was very much influenced by a filter of depression and self-doubt. In the moment, I didn’t realise how bad off I was. As I started touching the people in MiXChange and the ministry and integrating with them and the message from God from the pulpit, it shon light on all the places in my life that was made shipwreck.
Looking at all the various parts of MiJourney, it is evident that who I was 3 years back, is not who I am now. Back then, I was saved but I had no real living relationship with the One who had my heart. I was very much living in self and all that self could perform for me to have, and it nearly cost me my life. You see, God so desperately wants us to run into His arms when the going gets tough, but I didn’t know that.
Through MiJourney, as I pressed into God, He has made me aware of the giftings, callings and mantels that He has placed on my life even before I was born, and before the world system could take all the things He has placed within and upon me, and polluted it for their benefit. One of the things that has changed the most in me, is the fact that because I love myself enough, I hate myself and all of the world that still has an impact within and upon me. I love myself enough, to hate the things in me that does not please my Father and that does not give Him glory. I can name all the things that has changed, but thanks to the Goodness of my Father, it’s too much to even mention. I can only sum it up in one word – MiXChange.
When I mourned, He comforted me and gave me the oil of joy.
Where I had ashes, He gave me beauty.
Where the spirit of heaviness was upon me, He placed on me a garment of praise.
Old ruins has been rebuild
Former desolations has been raised up
Where I had shame, I now have double honour
Where I was confused, I now rejoice in my portion
Wherever I go I possess double
Everlasting joy is mine
Coming into MiXChange, my relationships I had with people was like a virus sucking out all the good in my life. I did not want to be around people, nevermind have relationships with them. In our first year we got taught on temperaments, and mine is one that easily defaults to the task at hand rather than the relationship at hand.
At the end of my second year, I had an absolute zeal of God consume me to change this, to do and be better in relationships. He shed abroad in my heart a God kind of love and appreciation for the relationships He has orchastrated and initiated in my life. Those God has placed in my life, is there for me to co-parter and co-labour in their gift, calling and assignment and to be of aid in the furtherance of it, not just because of the natural things they may or may not add to my life.
Relationships to me now is one of the greatest tools and opportunities to put my walk with God and every fruit that springs forth from that, into action. I love those around me intensely, regardless whether I like them or what they are doing. I would not be where I am today if I did not allow the Holy Spirit to do a work in my heart concerning relationships and Gods intended purpose for them.
